Thailand | January 2024 | 735 km | 16 Days
In January 2024, I completed a 735-kilometer cycling expedition along Thailand’s Chao Phraya River, travelling from Chiang Mai to the Gulf of Thailand over 16 days.
The expedition focused on studying river pollution and raising awareness about the environmental challenges facing one of Thailand’s most important waterways. Along the route, I observed the impacts of plastic waste, urbanization, domestic sewage, and other forms of pollution on the river and surrounding communities.
Through field observations and interactions with local people, the journey highlighted the importance of river conservation and sustainable development. The expedition combined research, environmental awareness, and adventure, demonstrating how cycling can be used as a platform for promoting environmental responsibility and protecting freshwater ecosystems..
